Molly Butler Lodge & Cabins to Operate Award-winning, Luxury Inn & Cabins in Greer, AZ—formerly known as “The Red Setter”

New Owner of “Red Setter” property, Ramey Peru, has visited the White Mountains for 50+ Years

GREER, Ariz. (July 1, 2013) – The historic Molly Butler Lodge & Cabins (est. 1910)  is proud to announce that it is now teaming up with the new owner of the former Red Setter Inn, Ramey Peru, to offer additional luxury lodging and cabin rentals on the Little Colorado River in the charming White Mountain village of Greer, AZ.  The property, known to locals and past guests as The Red Setter Inn, offers a wide array of amenities (Jacuzzi tubs, satellite TV, complimentary Wi-Fi, modern kitchens, BBQ grills, indoor and outdoor fireplaces, etc.), and can accommodate a total of 66 overnight guests.  Situated on 4.5 acres along the river, these cabin rentals in Greer AZ include:

A spacious log guest house (approximately 8,000 square-feet) featuring 8 bedrooms– each with a private bathroom and terrace, a roomy penthouse suite, common areas for lounging and dining, a fully outfitted kitchen, a game room, and expansive decks that overlook the Little Colorado River.

One 3,100 square-foot cabin with 4 bedrooms, 3.5 bathrooms located in a secluded spot on the river.

One 1,600 square-foot cabin with 2 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms located adjacent to the main guest house.

Two 725 square-foot cabins with 1 bedroom and a loft and 1 bathroom, located across the river from the main guest house.

All details pertaining to these accommodations will soon be available at www.MollyButlerLodge.com.

The former Red Setter Inn, which will be renamed and celebrate its official grand re-opening next spring (2014), was originally founded in 1995 by partners Jim Sankey and Ken Conant.  The two ran the Inn as a bed and breakfast and earned international acclaim for their charming and luxurious little sanctuary, located on the picturesque Little Colorado River among the Ponderosa pines.  In fact, in 2006 it was named among the “Top 10 Choice Hotels” by Fodor’s, the pre-eminent publisher of travel guides worldwide.

“I have been visiting Greer and the White Mountains for over 50 years.  When I was a kid, we used to camp along the East and West Forks of the Black River, just below Big Lake.  We would drive to Greer for the day to fish, and often times to grab a snack of ice cream.  I remember driving through Greer in those days and thinking that when I grew up I wanted to own property in Greer,” said Ramey Peru, the new owner of the former Red Setter Inn.  “That dream became a reality for me in 1997 when I purchase a cabin in Greer and for years now I have enjoyed coming to this special place with my kids and grandkids.  I love Greer and want to help continue to make the village a special, unique Arizona experience for generations to come.”

Sadly, the Wallow Fire took the Peru Bear Cabin in June 2011, but it didn’t take away Peru family’s love for Greer. Fortunately the family owns additional property in Greer, where they continue to create great memories with family and friends.  Now, having acquired the former Red Setter Inn, Peru is determined to make Greer even more widely known and loved.

“We are pleased to team up with Allan Johnson and his staff at Molly Butler Lodge & Cabins.  They will be managing these cabin rentals in Greer AZ on our behalf and we believe this will be a great collaborative partnership—one of many partnerships that we hope to cultivate with other Greer businesses,” continued Peru.  “We are incredibly fortunate to have so much to offer in our little village—award winning restaurants and cafes, great gift and antique shops, live music and special family events year-round, and endless outdoor activities!”

“I am thrilled to align Molly Butler Lodge & Cabins with another very special landmark in Greer,” said Allan Johnson, co-owner of Molly Butler Lodge.  “We are extremely proud to add the former Red Setter Inn and its cabin rentals in Greer AZ to our offering of truly unique vacation rentals in Greer.  Hands down, this is one of the best private locations in northern Arizona for vacation getaways, weddings, family reunions, retreats, men’s or women’s trips, and special events.  No matter what time of year—summer, fall, winter or spring—the village of Greer offers incredible natural beauty, a laid back vibe, great dining and shopping, and countless fun activities for couples, friends and families.”
